For pet lovers that live in apartments, size can be a major area of concern. However, the good news is that there are plenty of breeds that can easily be accommodated into smaller spaces.

Basenjis can be quite mischievous, but, they make for great apartment dogs. This is because they hardly bark and are known to be quite reserved. Also, they don’t grow too big. Their average height tends to be 18 inches and their average weight is usually around the 25 pound mark.
You’ve probably seen these guys in your own neighborhood or on TV. Boston Terriers are fantastic apartment dogs. They are small and super polite. Very rarely have there been complaints of Boston Terriers creating a ruckus.
Apart from the fact that they are quiet dogs, they are also some of the most loyal and friendly.
Here’s a fun fact: Boston Terriers are referred to as “The American Gentlemen” and it’s not only because of their black and white fur patterns.
The English Bulldog is a medium sized breed, which is good news for condo dwellers. Also, these dogs aren’t too fond of activity, which means you’ll likely find them taking naps or simply lying down. You might think that’s a stereotype because of how they’re portrayed on TV. But, those TV shows and movies aren’t wrong – Bulldogs are a lazy bunch.
For a condo dweller, that can be a good thing because you won’t have a noisy, hyperactive blob running around the house.
Dogs probably don’t get tinier than Chihuahuas. This breed is exceptionally small, which means they are perfect for small living spaces. Also, they hardly need any exercise and can be carried around with ease. They’re quite loyal to their owners as well.
However, they do have problems getting used to people; so, make sure you’re always present in a social setting.
Dachshunds, jokingly referred to as “sausage dogs”, are adorable because of their tiny size and sausage like shape. Their size makes them ideal for a condo. Other than that, they’re also energetic and vibrant. There’s never a dull day when you have Dachshund at home.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
These guys are some of the most easy-going breeds you’ll find. They are very sociable, which means you won’t have problems with neighbors and other dogs. They rarely weigh more than 18 pounds, which, of course, limits the amount of space they require.
